Your CIAT Research Online, July 2015

Dear All,

The Data and Information Management team is pleased to share with you the latest CIAT Research Online Newsletter, which includes new CIAT research outputs submitted after the May 2015 newsletter. Please see a few highlights below.

  • We have 70 peer-reviewed journal articles in our 2015 records, 62 of these were published in ISI indexed journals, and 44 are open access. This is good progress towards reaching our publication objectives.
  • Submission of primary data underlying publications is currently below expectation as only 8 of the 2015 peer-reviewed articles have submitted primary data.
  • Kindly submit information about primary data while submitting your publication, indicating whether the data was collected by CIAT or not. Remember that only CIAT data will be published on Dataverse or other suitable platforms; however, we are keeping records about primary data for all publications.
  • We are collecting your ORCID numbers for addition to our repository records to assist with author disambiguation and output tracking. Please register for a number here and send it to CIAT-library@cgiar.org. Learn more about ORCID numbers from our blog.
Calling on all CIAT bloggers: Please use either DOIs or CIAT Research Online links in your blog posts. Dropbox and Wordpress are not sustainable homes for our research outputs, kindly avoid linking to these locations. Send your documents to CIAT-Library@cgiar.org, and we will send you a link to use.

Congratulations to all for your publications and other research outputs. Kindly note you can always view the latest research outputs on the CGSpace platform and on CIATNet.

Best regards,

Leroy Mwanzia

63% of 2015 refereed journal articles are Open Access.
89% of our 2015 refereed journals are in the ISI Master Journal List.

0% publications are in predatory journals so far and only 1 article is under investigation. Let us continue working at keeping this number at zero.  If you have any doubts about  choosing a journal please contact the Library.
postprint manuscript refers to the author's version of a publication after going through peer review and incorporating the reviewers comments. CIAT Library is collecting postprints of non-open access journal articles and archiving them according to publishers policies listed on SHERPA/RoMEO.
